Special Educational Needs & Disability Provision
Southwater Junior Academy is an inclusive school that provides a broad and balanced curriculum for all children, where all teachers set appropriate learning challenges and respond to the children’s diverse learning needs.
The Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision at the Academy allows children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability (SEND), to access a broad and balanced curriculum, specifically differentiated and tailored to develop life skills and a healthy self-esteem and confidence. Through their learning they will build independence and achieve their full potential in a caring, supportive and inclusive environment.
The Academy has many learning spaces for small groups of children or individuals, who require extra support. Iggy’s Room is a popular learning space for children with SEND
