Southwater Junior Club – Before and After School Activities
Having listened to the feedback from parents and pupils we have extending our provision, all of which will be run as an integral part of the academy, to 5 days a week during term time, from 7.35am until 6.30pm. Being an integral part of our activities you can expect the high quality care that our pupils receive throughout the school day to continue to this extended period.
Mrs Nikki Slater, Mrs Lisa Mason and Mrs Fiona Kingsbury lead the team, co-ordinating the provision of activities available to the children. The activities are delivered in a more relaxed manner than experienced in the conventional school day, but are nevertheless carefully organised as we consider our wrap around care to be part of our wider provision to the children.
The children are able to enjoy their time before and/or after school and choose from a wide variety of activities encompassing the outdoor activities, cooking, arts and crafts, performing arts, gardening as well as fun activities based on subjects from the curriculum. Throughout the extended hours of operation the children have access to the academy’s ICT and Library facilities and if they wish will have the opportunity to complete their homework. Children will of course have the option to choose the activities that they partake in and/or make the best use of the facilities available in the room – tablets, comfy seating, games etc. Details of the pricing for your children to stay with us for the extended hours are shown below.
Children are also able to enjoy a varied Breakfast in the morning and a two course home-cooked meal in the evening as part of the provision.
Prices per child will be;
7.35 – 8.45am £4.00 per child (includes Breakfast)
3.20 – 6.30pm £12.50 per child (includes Tea)
Before + Afterschool £15.00 (includes Breakfast and Tea)
Places need to be booked at the start of each term via the school office and payment made in advance via Parent Pay, cheque or cash; additional sessions may be available on a daily basis should an emergency arise and child care be needed. Childcare vouchers will also be accepted if we are advised which scheme your employer uses.
