COVID-19 response- info for key workers
During this period of partial closure the Southwater Junior Academy continues to be open for provision for vulnerable pupils and children of key workers.
The government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. This means schools can only provide care for children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home.
If you require a place at SJA during this period of partial closure, we are asking parents to notify us in advance by emailing email@example.com, and subsequently bring proof of their key worker status with them when dropping their children off at school. We understand that, by now, employers will have written to those parents for whom ‘key worker status’ applies, confirming this is the case.
To qualify for key worker status, parents' work must be considered critical to the COVID-19 response, as set out here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision
Irrespective of any partial closure or collaboration with another school, the safeguarding of all our children remains our top priority. At this time, our school will continue as normal in supporting our vulnerable children and if anyone has any questions regarding this they are asked to make contact with the Academy Office: firstname.lastname@example.org
